Context

In 1 John 5, the Apostle John speaks of the confidence believers can have in their relationship with God, assurance of eternal life, and the power of prayer.

We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.
 ––1 John 5:18 KJV

How to read it

If you’re tight with God and living that God-life, sin doesn’t have a grip on you. It’s like having a super shield where you’re protected from all the bad vibes. When you’re close to God, you’re in a safe bubble that the evil one can’t burst, and that’s lit.

Let’s pray

Heavenly Father,
thank You for Your promise of protection over our lives. You are our shield and defender, guiding us in every step. We are grateful for Your love that keeps us safe from sin and harm. Help us to remain in Your presence and trust in Your strength.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
