Context
In Luke 10, Jesus sends out seventy disciples to spread his teachings and grants them power over demons and harm.
Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
––Luke 10:19 KJV
How to read it
Jesus is like, ‘Hey, I’ve got your back against the bad guys, even if they try to act like snakes or scorps. They’re no match for the power I’m giving you. So, you can step on those negative vibes, and they won’t bring you down.’ It’s basically saying we have this divine protection, and nothing can really hurt us when we’re rolling with Jesus.
Let’s pray
Heavenly Father,
thank you for giving me the authority over my fears and challenges. I praise you for the protective power you’ve placed in my life. Help me to walk with confidence, knowing that you are with me and nothing can harm me. Please strengthen my faith, so I can conquer all adversity, opposition and obstacles in alignment with Your will.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
