Context
2 Corinthians 3 discusses the contrast between the old covenant of the law and the new covenant of the Spirit, emphasizing the life-giving power of the Holy Spirit.
Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
––2 Corinthians 3:17 KJV
How to read it
When you roll with Jesus, the Holy Spirit is with you, and that’s where real liberty is at. It’s not just about following all those old rules and rituals anymore, but living in this new energy that lets you be truly free. The Spirit breaks chains and gives you the freedom to be closer to God, without all the limits.
Let’s pray
Heavenly Father,
we praise You for the freedom You give us through the Holy Spirit. Thank You for breaking the chains and giving us liberty in Christ. Help us to always remember and embrace the freedom that Your Spirit brings into our lives. May our lives reflect the love and liberty found only in You.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Bible Study
For a deeper understanding, take some time to read and compare 2 Corinthians chapter 3 with Galatians 5, where Paul talks about living in the Spirit and the freedom Christ gives us. Look into the transition from the old covenant to the new and how realizing this shift can change your daily walk with God.
